I am trying looking for any information regarding specifially the Richard Crofts Trawler of any other trawlers that sailed from Milford Haven, Pemprokeshire and the crew lists.
Or any information about fishermen from Milford Haven during the 1950's please.
I would be extremely pleased with any information at all.[/align]

Oh wicked! Richard croft trawler seem to have an interesting history. It met with an accident in early 1950s and sank into reef. I was in charge of Skipper Harry rich; he was the youngest skipper it seems. Of his crew of 12, 8 died. One of the firemen, who were in the trawler till it sank, swam back and the young skipper tragically died. He couldn’t swim back. Sorry I couldn’t find anything about Milford haven trawlers. Did anyone else find anything about them?

Hi, My Grandad (My Mum's Dad) was on this boat when it sank. My Mum was just under 3 years old. His name was John (sometimes known as Jack, or Jacky) Owens. He was very young, had a wife and 5 children. I found out he was the bo'sun and was called to work on this boat as a stand in for someone who took ill just before it left Milford Haven. I live only 5 minutes walk away from where the group who lost their lives are buried and me and my mum visit on special occasions so I have seen Skipper Harry Rich's grave sadly.

I was trying to gather some information about the boat/people on the boat or anyone who would know anything about John Owens? I sadly found out not a lot. There seems to be lists of trawler men on the internet but nothing to help me. I was keen to find out what other boats John Owens may have worked on.
